As far as most fans are concerned, Martha Wayne and her husband Thomas were both shot and killed in front of their son Bruce (Batman) in an alley way after a night at the movies. However, in a Flashpoint comic timeline, Martha Wayne was actually The Joker!

Now how can this be possible? Well you can blame Flash for that, since he created a temporal boom when running back in time to save his mother. In the new timeline, her son, Bruce, was shot and killed instead of her and Thomas. This seeing her son die in front of her twisted and broke her mind, leading her to become the Joker of this timeline.
